The formation of River Division 595, part of River Flotilla 5 was as early as April 1969. The division started out with (8) ASPBs and were operating out of Nha Be in the Rung Sat Soecial Zone, And Tuyen Nhoun Between Tan An and Moc Ha on the Song Vam Co Tay River in Operation Giant Sling Shot. The name of the division was The Delta Destroyers, call sign Farmdale. In July 1969 the division was transfered to River Assault Squadren 15, and became River Division 153. Some time in 1971 the division was turned over the South Vietnamese Navy. ASPB 6854 was the first Alpha Boat to get the 3.5 rocket pods mounted on it forward 20mm gun mount.
